Ok i have a problem i bought 6 cardinals today not even thinking :) and when i got them home i put them in my tank (of course i let the bag float on the top) and 1 of them got half eat'n T_T i didnt realise the size so i quickly gatherd them up and put them in a 2 gal.

TELL ME how long it will take for them to grow to atleast half an inch they are just under a quarter of an inch :/ very small

That's too bad! Do you have a floating plants in there? Or a cabomba...if you have someplace for the cardinals to hide, they should be okay...

Kishfeeper, removing the cardinals to a 2 gallons is not going to help either. What are your other fish? I'd say rehome your suspected betta to the 2 gallons. Your betta will do better in a 2 gallons tank than cardinal tetras.

thing is blue i need to just grow them up at least to half an inch before i can put them back in there because when i first got them they were under a cm and very fragile. to tell you the truth these are one of the hardiest fish i have ever had :O even more than my swordtails (Touch wood)
i'm just waiting for my 10 gal to become available so i can pop'em in there till there bigger :) ,currently treating 8 red eye tetras :(

also my female betta doesn't bother anyone who cant fit in her mouth, only my male does (only when hes grumpy)
