My gold rams are laying and fertilizing eggs tonight. I noticed they are each taking a turn going over to the air stone, getting a bubble of air in their mouths and placing it in the crevice before they do their part.

I suppose they could be getting specks of sand from the air stone, but don't believe that is the case. There is black sand substrate that would be much easier to get at. If they get distracted and lose their bubble, they go right back for another.

I'm not sure what this strange ritual would accomplish, since the bubbles rarely even get close to the eggs, but I've not been able to find anything written on it. I'm dying to know now!

This is my first post, so I'm not for sure of how to post a video, but will insert a link where I upped it to YouTube so you can see them doing... whatever it is they are doing.
