Apistogrammas are a super little fish for a 10g. They'll bred in it also. There really a beautiful spices. Some that do good in a 10g is the cockato, panduro, broili, aggssizi, elizabeth, pebes. There's alarge number of Apistogrammas to choose from. One of the most colorful of the Dwarf cichlids to me. The panduro is a beautiful blue and it's name means blue sky. here take a look at one of my males.

I've had cockato pr, panduro pr,borilli pr , and two other prs in a 125g with Austrian rainbows, dwarf rainbows, bumbble bee gobys , night gobys , BN plecos , royal pleco and 50 neons and around 100 black skirt tettras for 5yr now. There's been so many frys Ican't count them all. There's a panduro fry now of about 50+. Oh yea there's also a trio pr of kribs in this tank to. I'd say Apistogrammas for a cummintie tank anytime. There beautiful and really easy to care for.

Cycle tank first before getting your fish.:) From the sound of it, you're buying fish almost immediately after getting your equipments.

Remember, you need to be patient with this hobby.;)

most pppl say u shouldnt cycle with fish but i hav to disagree. cockatoos would be a bad choice, they need an aged aquarium. i feel the best is a bushy nosed pleco. they look pretty sweet especially the albinos. tetras arent a good idea either. betta would work to, but it may nip the fins of ur cockatoos if they ever see each other
