This is my Puffer tank. Its a 29 gallon tank that is a little over half way full of water due to some plants I am trying to grow emersed.

Yes that's an Angelfish. I will get to that in a moment.
First some pics of the plants.

From left to right
Crypt Wendtii "red", Java moss, a dwarf sword (forgot the actual name), some more Java moss, and a small peace lily (I grew one of these years ago in a frog tank once. It gets huge yes I know.)

My Dwarf Sagittaria that is taken forever to grow!

My different Anubias.

Some more Anubias. I really like Anubias so I have some different types.

Finally This last pic is of my 55 gallon before it failed. 2012-09-13 13.04.19.jpg This is the tank I had 5 beautiful Angelfish in. Fungus exploded in it from some wood and killed all but the one Angel you see in my puffer tank. I put it in that tank as it is the only other tank I have running. I torn down my 55 to redo it with the hopes to getting it back up and running so I could move my Angel back. Well I decided it was going to be more work then I can take on right now plus funds are a little low. So I have decided that the 55 is going to be down until after the Holidays and probably till spring. So I am going to re-home the Angel as its not in a big enough tank for it.
P.s. Sorry for bad pics!

What kind of puffer? Why is your water line so low?

you have to be careful because remember angels are schooling fish and if your angel cant do that it may get nippy with your puffers.i think you would be better off to copletly tear down your big tank and fill it with water and have the filter running with the angel in it.but every fish is different and maby your angel will get along fine with the puffers.

The Puffer is a Dwarf Puffer. The Angel is going tomorrow since this tank was just a temp. holding tank till I got mine other back together. That's not going to happen. So going to rehome it. I know Angels are shoaling fish. I originally had 5 four died.

The water lvl is lower because of the emersed plants I am growing. Some of them can grow submerged or emersed. Some can only grow with the leaves above the water.

Well my LFS agreed to take my Angelfish after I explained what happened and that I wasn't looking for store credit or anything just needing the fish to have a better environment to live in. :-( I am still sad that I have to get rid of it but its for the better!

I really like the look of that dwarf water lettuce! I like how the roots hang down.

I think I'd like some in the 220, but I'm worried it will block the lights from getting to my other plants. I only have T8 bulbs and it's a really deep tank.

Canadian, This is the first time I have had water lettuce. I also really like the looks of it. If you get some you could keep it thinned out in areas so the light can get through to plants that need more light. I don't know what kind of plants you have but if they are all low light plants you won't need to worry about thinning out the water lettuce.

I have water lettuce grow very, very well (pictures below) in my small tank with little to no water movement (RCS tank). In my other tank, it does okay, but this plant prefers to not move around and it does not like to get it's leaves wet.

Mine have grown like 2 1/2 inches in diameter! The roots go all the way to the substrate.

I love PUFFERS!!! OMG, I'm jealous!

It really sucks about the angels - that whole story made me very, very sad - but PUFFERS!!! *SQUEEEE* One day, I will have puffers! I can't wait to see where this tank ends up. :)

I love DWL, too - but it does NOT like my 55g. it WAS doing okay, but it didn't like the water movement in there, I guess. I have it in the Betta tank, and it's doing great in there. I have such trouble with floaters, lol!

Keep posting on this little guy - and his soon-to-be friends. I want to know ALL ABOUT them! Good luck!

Jes I have had puffers since the day I started out keeping fish (which hasn't been long LoL). I have one little guy left from the original group. Through trial and error I lost some puffers due to my filter/s on different tanks they were in. http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/freshwater-puffer-fish/looking-getting-dwarf-puffer-need-advice-67555/ my old thread about them. Invertplanet if he is still an member here is very knowledgeable about puffers. I just haven't seen him in a long time. You can also check out Dwarfpuffers.com it has lots of info on that site.

Ooh, I'll look into that thread! I (like so many others) fell in love with these guys the moment I laid eyes on them. One day, I intend to keep them, though not just yet. . . such cool fish. I'd have to get my water right for them first, anyway. From time to time soft water is a pain ;) Oh, wait. . . these are the ones that are okay with soft, right? LOL! You can tell I'm nowhere near ready for them, but ONE day! I WILL HAVE SOME PUFFERS TO APPEAR!!! Good luck, hon!

My dwarf puffers have quickly become some of my favorite fish. They swim out to the glass when they see us, and one of them has this blinking thing going on that makes it look like he is winking at us.

They are very aggressive eaters and two of them once had a tug of war over a blood worm.

What and how often do you feed yours?

I have been feeding them bloodworms every other day as per my LFS' suggestion.
