Hello all please excuse me I kinda new at thsi....... I have a 55 gal tank, in it I had 3 Zebra Danios, 4 Glow Lite Tetra, 4 Cardinal Tetra. Yesterday I added 4 Blood Fin's, once they got into tank 1/2 hr 45 min later they started bossing the Cardinals around and all of a sudden today one of them is MIA. They seem to leave the Danios alone for the most part but they are trying to be king of the roost. Stuff I read on them says they are not really aggressive and get along. Do I need to fear for my other fish or in a few days will they all work out their domain and that be the end of it?! I had a couple bala's for awhile and when they went in they didn't bother the smaller fish.

the only thing i can think of is make the group larger,as they are a shoaling fish,from what i can see.
however don't just go on what i said,see what others can come up with.
maybe someone here keeps them and can give you some
home grown information.

Yeah guy at LFS told me to get at least 3 so I got 4, I read you should have 6?! Seems that the one Cardinal was dead I found him on the filter intake. He was missing his tail so I don't know if they just chewed him to death of if it just deteriared (?).

First up, you need at least 6 tetras in a school. 10 if they're nippy.

Bloodfins tend to be fast moving and can be nippy. This seems to be common in the genus Aphyocharax. I don't know as I would mix them with the smaller more passive tetras like neons, cardinals, and glowlights, or with ones that can stress easily, like rummies. Course, this is booklarnin, not experience, so take it with a grain of salt.

I have 6 boodfins with some guppies and CPDs and they are for the most part peaceful, but they do become a little unfriendly around food and smaller fish(I haven't had any fin nipping). I would recommend at least 6 so they can feel more comfortable. Just make sure you have the space for them.
