Here are some quick snap shots of the Hydor Slim Skim Nano Protein Skimmer fitting in Chamber 1 of the Biocube 29gal.

This allows you to run a quality skimmer without having to sacrifice your refugium in chamber 2 or hiding all your probes,heater, etc. (any accessories) in chamber three.

I hope this helps future (and current) Biocube owners see one more possible option when selecting protein skimmers.

Yes Sir. With it being a tight fit, you can just slide it up and down to what ever level you desire. I would also like to mention that with the Biocube chamber lids being a "dome" shape, you can raise the skimmer rather high (too high actually).

I am currently running it higher so i get that real dark nasty stuff that we've all come to admire from a skimmer. I would say i empty the cup maybe twice a month......but it all depends if there's any new additions to the tank (fish or coral).

i cannot get mine to fit it seems to get stuck halfway down any advice!?

So you did remove the smaller inner trim around the first chamber?

I'm assuming you did since you have it the skimmer half way in.

Have the power chord and airline tubing run along side the skimmer not the back (along chamber 1 & 2 wall).

There are a couple of small tabs about half way down in the chamber. This used to be where the filter cartridge went before they reengineered it to lay across chamber 2. I believe this is what you are hitting.

Push the skimmer in till you hit those tabs. When you do, lift the skimmer up a little and try to angel the bottom of the skimmer towards the outer wall of chamber 1 (not next to chamber 2) while running the chord and airline tubing along chamber 2 wall.

I can annotate my pics more it you still can't get it.

It was a tight fit at first, but it does fit. Once you get it, it becomes much easier.
