I heard from a friend that it was ok to keep a betta fish with 3 guppies and their fry. Is this true. I was planning on taking back a broken tank I got and need a place for the betta. Please Reply ASAP
This is not a good match long-term. Male guppy are brightly coloured, and this is documented as being like waving a red flag in front of a bull. Betta frequently attack such fish.
The guppy may decide to nip the flowing fins of Betta.
Betta are not community fish, and will always be better on their own in a suitable aquarium. But in an emergency, you might get by.
Byron.
