Hi Guys,

How are ya's? might be an odd question, but I live pretty close to the beach, is it ok to get some water from the beach and use it for my tank? pending that it is tested before use of course?

Appreciate your feedback on this as it would save me a lot of money on RO water/salt.

Don't do it. The water from the beach has a ton of runoff and other gunk from the land. You wouldn't pull water out of the river for your freshwater tank, would you?? :(

No if you want to use ocean water you will have to go out like 20 miles. They are to many pollutites in the water near the shore line.

you would need to go further than that, most waste contaminant plants dump there waste far out in sea so it wont wash up on shore (even though lots of it still does wash up) you would need to go very very far out
