Hello everyone! I'm always seeing threads like this: Can I put another guppy in theis tank? or Do I have enough filtration capacity? A great deal of these threads could be solved with this site: AqAdvisor - Intelligent Freshwater Tropical Fish Aquarium Stocking Calculator and Aquarium Tank/Filter Advisor On AQAdvisor, you enter your tank size, fish and filters and it tells you if you need more filters, if you're overstocked and how many water changes you need. This is a great site for building your first aquarium or just checking all of your current ones.

(Those threads are fake and I don't mean to crit anyone who asked those questions. This forum is all about asking questions and helping new aquarists!)

Aqadvisor is something I use to check for any major compatibility issues.. I still like to do quite a bit of research on each fish afterwards. They're not 100% accurate and don't take a lot of very specific details into consideration.

Not saying that it's not a good resource.. Just not an end all, be all resource.

Aqadvisor is a great tool, but it is just a tool and tools are only as good as the person using them. While the algorithms used are very sophisticated, they dont scratch the surface of the nuances of stocking. Aqadvisor is a great place to start, but it's always best to have people look over your plan before implementation.

It's a good tool and are continuously updating their logarithms to get a better product
You still find problems every now and then but for the most part pretty good

Oh no doubt, for beginners it is a great place to start your stocking research and it is a 100X better now that when he launched.

Use it as a tool, read, research, experiment and learn. I've been in the hobby before anyone but NASA had a computer and have learned a ton. No program can anticipate all variables, that is what people do.

A reason that ppl don't use AqAdvisor is that they don't know it exists. I agree a sticky is a good solution. However, making it a sticky should have a caveat about it only being onr of may tools and should be used as such.

I didn't know it exists until someone on this forum pointed it out. To my knowledge there is no mechanism that automatically tells a new hobbyist that the site exists.

Obviously an oversight on aqadvisors part....
