Gouramis need warm water(78-82 degrees Fahrenheit) little or no current and floating plants. I use elodea as a floating plant to help support and protect the bubble nest. The fry will be small and should be fed infusoria for the first couple of weeks. If you do not have infusoria, there are some commercial foods on the market for baby egglayers. After which, baby brine shimp can be fed.
Sexing of the fish can be somewhat difficult. The female tends to have a deeper body. If she is of breeding age and has been conditioned, her abdomen may become swollen with eggs. Males may drive the females to the point of death of the female of she is not receptive, so keep an eye out and provide her with plenty of hiding places.
Conditioning of the fish is accomplished by feeding brine shimp, tubifex worms, blood worms and the like. These can be live or freeze-dried.
Good luck.
