Well versions of a low tech tank will be different from person 2 person. My version is at least like 1 - 1.5 wpg then stuff the tank with a bunch of very easy plants. Stock lightly with fish and than do a water change every month or 2 (if u r understocked). If u stock heavily than the plants might do a little better because more nutrients but that will require weekly water changes. Both r not 2 hard 2 care for.

Righto mate, thanks. I have just over one wpg and dose weekly with Aqua Master plant food (liquid). Its about a twenty gallon growout tank with one 5in tandanus tandanus catfish and one 2in firemouth cichlid. I am making a 3ftx14inx18in tank for the firemouth and plan to keep cory cats and tiger barbs and such with it. I plan on making that heavily planted as well. I have a pond in the works for the tandanus catfish.
