Presently have 42 gal tank with 4 small angels. Would like to add one or two small discus. As they grow, will transfer to larger tank. I've read a few posts where this has been done successfully. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Hi and welcome,
It's possible. However you'll need 4-6 discus rather than alone or a pair as they tend to become ruffians when kept singly.
4 discus with 4 angels should be enough. Just make sure the discus are larger than the angels as angels are quick to eat and can bully the discus.
Don't try adding more fish other than just discus and angels as you'll be overstocked. Bottom dwellers are ok. You may try otos, ancistrus or cories.
