I have 3 angelfish that live in my 65g tank along with other tank mate - look in siggy. All three are silver angelfish however 1 is a veil tail. Since I first got them they all have pretty short fins however once in the tank they bloomed and had fabulous finnage.
However the veiltail has a problem with one of its ventral fins. The fin hasn't grown since I first got it and today while looking at it I noticed that it is a slight knob at the bottom. However the other fin has grown fine and is 2 times longer than the abnormal fin.
The angel also has a small black dot on one of its pectoral fin rays and I am curious on what it could be - maybe the fin grew in a weird way? The dot is the size of pin prick, easily less than a millimeter.
I know that it is common for veil tail angelfish to have bent rays in it finnage however can I rectify this or is it how the fish is?
I seen a person on youtube cut a tail of a arrowana as it rays were deformed and the person said that getting rid of the tail - not all the tail, just the affected part - and letting it grow back will fix it. Could this work on my finnage problems - especially the ventral fin - or would it be a waste of time?
Thanks guys it not the most normal question...
