Hi guys

I’ve got a 40 gallon tank (50 US) 189litres and I want to know if I currently have an over stocked tank or if I’m even or even have some room for more.

I know the rule is 1inch fish per gallon but would like to get ur opinion as I would like to get 5-10 more neons if possible
ive got:

6 cherry barbs
9 copper rasboras
2 platies (juvenile)
15 neon tetras
1 gold german dewarf ram cichilid

I’ve currently got a all pond solutions 1000IF internal filter.

Yes, that would be a tad bit over-stocked.
The one inch of fish per gallon doesn't really exist, and it's just, like, for people to be like "ok, my tank is [blank] gallons, so I could fit [blank] fish, but the reasonable amount is [blank] amount of fish."
your school is pretty big already. I'd recommend adding a natural hide for the cichlid and some live plants, other than that your tank is pretty good ig!

Thanks.

I won’t put any more fish in there if that’s the case

the back row of the tank is all live plants and the ram does like to go behind there and behind the bog wood to hide.
