Hi we had gotten a African Featherfin Catfish at our LFS. Hes doing really well but I have noticed his body is changing. He is dark with small spots you can't really see and on all his fins they have vertical stripes. I'm worried because I've noticed these random beige markings on his body. He usually stays in his cave so I can't get a close look at him. But hes never had them before. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before. Other than that he eats and is healthy.

As they grow and mature their pattern changes. Without seeing a picture or video depicting that of which you speak, it's impossible to determine if it's something to be concerned about or not.

If you can do a video that would be better, and probably easier.

Those are better pictures. Hopefully someone will recognize what's going on. I don't know what to tell you.

Is it raised? Is it smooth? The better you can describe it the more it can help people figure it out.

Seems like the skin in those spots are rubbed off and thats why its that color. Like its almost an indent in each spot its that color. But its not ragged looking like a cut or anything. its clean cut what ever it is. And hes fine other wise.
