Hi everybody,
Here is my 55 gallon planted aquarium. It is the first planted tank I've ever done. The right side of the tank has more plants because it has more lighting. Behind the regular T-12 fixture is a T-5 HO light with two bulbs. The left side is full of river rock and 3 pieces of driftwood, which are still leeching out some tannins. Scattered about are a few java ferns and 2 anubias. There is a piece of drift wood covered in Java moss with two java ferns attached. Then I have two green crypts (not sure what kind) and behind/next to those are 6-7 red wendtii crypts. There are 4 swords. Behind the swords I have 4 newly planted balansae crypts (they are only 3 inches high at the moment and cant be seen). There are 6 Vals in the back right corner and 5 Sagittaria towards the front right.

I was wondering if you guys could give me advice on new plants to buy or ways to rearrange my tank to make it look better.

yeah, the serpae tetras usually stick to the mid-lower level of the right side of the tank. However, the silver tipped tetra swim the whole upper level of the tank. The corys utilize most of the tank too. I'm thinking about maybe getting more corys (I have 3 albinos and 2 peppers).

I like your plant selections and I like the placement of the plants too!

If it were me, I'd remove the rocks stacked up in the pile by the wood and maybe just have 2-3 rocks in total that are partially submerged in the gravel.

But I think you are off to a great start, are you using fertilizer tabs?
