I've been part of the reptile community for 5 years now and I was curious if there was any similarity between these two communities in terms of specialty online stores.

For reptiles, we have websites that specialize in raising and selling safe plants.

Is there websites out there that do that for aquatic plants?

I do not want to buy plants from pet stores (unless its a small, locally owned one that knows it's shiz) and I don't want to buy clippings from other members. I'm overly paranoid and don't want to purchase plants from a 'sketchy person' and end up with a tank full of dead fish or snail infestation.

For example:
NEHERP (you can google it, I don't know the limitations of link sharing on this forum) is where I buy all of my reptile plants, supplies, etc.

This is what I'm hoping to find for aquatic plants :D

Most people consider buying plants from forum members to be the safest and best option, and there are precautions you can take to make sure the plants aren't harboring snails or parasites.

That being said, aquabid is a good place to buy fish that also has a lot of plants for sale.

ah, I guess I'll have to read into cleaning plants then. I'm just always worried that the plants may be kept in tanks with sick fish ya know and yeah. I'm paranoid lol.

Oh my god I remember aquabid. The second I saw the site i said "Wow, been awhile" When I first started my 20g Long tank years ago that was a site shared to me and I since then totally forgot about it. Thank you.

I assume it's a fairly safe site then? Not a lot of issues with people buying fish/plants and the owner not delivering?

I'm sure you didn't mean it like that, but it was sounding like you didn't think much of the fish forum community to not want plants from our tanks because of "all the nasties" in our tanks, as I remember one member putting it a while ago .

Reputation is everything when it comes to purchasing livestock online. I have found sellers will go above and beyond to ensure my happiness. The "pros" on there that sell a lot of fish have the big picture in mind - the cost of whatever it takes to make you happy is always going to be less than the lost future revenues from you and whoever your negative review turns away. That's not to say you shouldn't buy from small time guys - NO ONE wants a negative review.

I've never paid for overnight shipping of fish. Only a couple times have I had fish that were DOA. Let them know and even though I didn't get the overnight delivery, they gave me credit for the fish towards my next purchase. They didn't have to, but they didn't want me to be a one and done customer.
