Many people use cheap acrylic enamels on their tanks, like Krylon or Rustoleum. Fine for glass. But for acrylic tanks, you may have a problem as anything that can remove the paint may cloud or craze the tank.

Rickey's right, try denatured alcohol first on a hidden area.

Hmm...I wonder of an acrylic tank maker would have a better answer.

Good advice...and a lot of work if done by hand. Make sure to use a soft sanding block -- not your hand -- and plenty of water (wet-sand). Automotive rubbing compound would work for a final buffing.

This technique worked on all the motorcycles I painted with cyano-acrylic. But that paint was a lot harder than what you'll be working with, so go easy.
