ok so my 2.5 betta tank was really algea-y and i decided to buy a cheap gold mystery snail. i found out how cool they are and i cherished it. then it disappeared! theres an internal filter in there and i redid the water and he crawled in there but i managed to take him out so i could see him and theres no way he couldve been killed by that because hes not neraly small enough to fit in the ouput hole. also if im correct bettas ignore snails (well at least mine did). hes not behind and bushes i checked all around he didnt fall out and theres no way my betta couldve eatin him in one day! WHERE IS HE!>!?

Hmmmm. I would definitely check again. What sort of substrate do you have in the tank? Could be it has burrowed perhaps?

I had a lovely black snail in my tank a while back - it came in with a shipment of plants. It was in there for months then disppeared and I never saw it again.

I'm thinking perhaps I mistakenly removed it when I chucked some plants out :|

no theres no way it couldve burrowed since its golden and the substrate is blue plus theres not a thick enough layer he would be sticking out some. man now i have to go buy another. ill go get some frogs while im doing that.

They will crawl out if given the chance and/or water quality drops. I found 3 Colombian ramshrons on top of my tank once and I didn't think I had a spot big enough for them to get out. Check around the tank and stand and you might be lucky enough to find it if it hasn't been too long.

OMFG! i found him!!!!! under the stand where the fish tank is theres like a little opening i didnt check under and he managed to crawl out of the tank down the 3 foot stand and halfway under where i found him. hes not rotted his little trapdoor is shut and sucktioned whaaaay in and he was kinda dusty but he didnt look or smell dead even if he probably is. i put him back in the fish tank and right now hes floating which happens everytime you put them back in the fish tank. i really hope he sinks and pops right back to life but i seriously doubt after 3 days of no water he will. pray for me guys.

YYYYYYYYYYYYEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! i dropped him back in. he floated. then he sunk down and poped right open and now hes crawling around eating algea again!!! i cannot believe it this is crazy. i think he crawled into the internal filter when the water level was high then out the back and i still thougt he was in the filter for another couple of days so he might have been out of the water for a week. this is the craziest fish related thing thats ever happened to me.
