A bright green algae solution?

I've had a fairly stable aquarium for quite some time and recently a new type of algae has turned up & I am wondering whether it is harmful to the tank.

The algae I'm concerned about is a growing patch in the middle of the tank, which I have zoomed in on in the second picture. It is bright green in colour and I'm not sure how to get rid of it. I'm tempted to just remove the gravel, bleach it and dry it in the sun before re-adding it back to the tank.

Parameters are as follows:
pH: 7.5
NH3: trace
NO2: 0
NO3: 10-15
PO4: 2

Do you vacuum your rocks often ?

I vacuum half the tank gravel at every water change, alternating between the two halves of the tank. It doesn't lift off.

This might seem strange

Ok I know this isn't the best Idea but snails work wonders. Also Alot of plants like moss balls keep alge out.

snails are great, live plants that suck up nutrients are great.

I have some catfish in the tank at the moment that are attacking all the algae except the one on the gravel in the tank.

Assuming it is BGA, where could it have originated from?
