My two plecos are sick . one has a 1/2 in red spot on his nose and the other a blister about 1/4 inch in diameter. These babies have never been sick. Can someone help . All water parameters are good with 6.8ph. {Young and poor,I have raised a 10" pleco in a 10/8 gallon 2ng hand aquarium and we had so much fun. the bio system I designed was great and he was very active. } Is it possible my babies burned themselves on my heater????:-:)-:)-( Thanks..for my grandkids. Granny (seriously)

I searched online and found out a few things:

He could have burned himself (My pleco did this before)

He could have hit the side of the tank or a rock.

It could possibly be a bacterial infection.

Caused by poor water quality (But since you said your parameters are good we can rule this one out.)

I'm sorry I don't have very good information, but I searched around and this is all I found. I'm sorry. I hope they get better soon. My pleco and fish burnt themselves on my heater before. The fish had a red spot on his side, and my pleco's nose was red. I added some regular fish medicine (Melafix) and it went away in about 2 weeks.

Welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum, Granny. Nice tohave you with us.

I can't add to what has been suggested, except to say that if you could get a clear photo of the fish it might help someone ID the issue more specifically.

Byron.
