Greetings everyone,

After a while I returned to fishkeeping via cycling my 55gal aquarium.

I spend the past months reading and trying to figure out what I wanted to do with it..

Now the tank is aquascaped with dragonstone and driftwood, in which I've planted some Anubias, Java ferns, cryptos, amazonswords and in general low maintenance hardy plants..

Once again the tank is fully cycled with a ph of 7.

Currently inside I have 6 yoyos and a rainbow shark..

The thing is that it gives me the feeling that something is missing..

Any suggestions of what fish could get along in this situation?

Thanks in advance!!

I think you should get some colorful schooling fish. Loaches and rainbow sharks usually stick to the bottom of tanks so you probably need some swimming fish. A couple of angelfish might also be a good choice for a large tank like that.

Thanks for the reply,

I was thinking of angels as well but to be honest I don't know in what ratio it would work... Taking into account that they are a schooling fish..

I think maybe just a pair of angelfish to play it safe.

Rainbow fish are another good choice as well. They have beautiful colors and come in a pretty good variety. I have kept some with my rainbow shark before and despite the shark being semi aggressive, he usually just leaves them alone.
