Many amazing people have helped me get to where I am and without them and this site, I would be lost. To those people, Thanks.:-D;-) It's been a long trip, but I'm also there, so bare with me. I started this tank( the wrong way) a year ago. I just thought buying plant bulbs for my fixtures and fertizler would let me grow plants, WRONG! Today I've learned most of the do's and don't's.

Things that I've done:
Have my lighting up and running; fixture, bulbs, and timer
I have added plants, but still need to add more
I have my sand
I have my flourish comp.

Things I need to do

Make tops for my tank. This weekend I had a battle with some glass tops that I bought and it was decided, that I should just make my own out of plexiglass.
Add some driftwood, decor, etc
Add Fish. Here's what I plan to stock; 9 Black ruby barbs, 11 Rummy nose tetras, 1 pearl gourami, 6 Panda cories, 6 Harlequin rasboras, 10 Ghost shrimp, and 1 Zebra snail. Now, about the Harlequins, I already have four of them and I think I would be mean to return them, once the tank is beautifully done. As for my ph, is VERY soft so don't worry and if you don't believe me, ask Bryon. We went back and forth on me wanting to keep livebears.
Add more plants

Once this is done I will be done.

I'll post some pics later.:-D

After you have uploaded the pics through manage attachments. Then click on the paper clip (its right above the box where you type). It will bring a drop down window of the attachments. You add one at a time and then type or all at once and put the space to type where you want.

Thanks, hopefully my tank is half as good as yours.:-D
 Thanks but My tank needs a major overhaul. The plants have been neglected here lately unfortunately (really the whole tank). The only thing I have kept up on is doing water changes but thats about it. Ohh well feedings but that should be a give me.

Have a lot going on with remodeling my house. I had to drain the tank like 2 or 3 times in one week and it melted half of my Jungle Vals  but I had no choice because I was redoing my floors (ripped out old carpet and put down Laminate flooring). Also about the same time I think my root tablets ran out and my swords are showing it. The background got left off durning the whole moving and removing and there is bba in the tank esp. in my Java moss. So yeah major work needed. Nothing a littel TLC can't handle just have to get time. This weekend will hopefully be that time.

Anywho I am sure your tank will look awesome when everything fills in. From the pics it does look it could use some rocks or driftwood or both just my opinion though. With that all said I still think your tank looks great!!

Sorry about your tank, I hope it recovers nicely. Yea I agree with what you said, but driftwood is CRAZY expensive!! I just want to make sure, I find the right piece. I would love to here more opinions.

Yeah I know the feeling about the expense of driftwood and I can only get mopani wood locally on top of that!! Don't know if you are aware if this or not but hardwoods can be used like Oak or Birch (thinks thats right or it might be beech) for driftwood. I have also gotten wood from one river before and used that. Just make sure it does.t have any sap! Just throwing some more options out there.

I was going to collect from the river, but Bryon said it's safer to buy from a store. Because of pestides, oil, etc. But the hardware store, would this still be in natural form and not lumber?

I wouldn't use anything from hardware stores as they would probably be treated pieces. Yeah you do have to becareful from collecting from rivers. The one I collected from in the mountains in the middle of nowhere so was thinking it would be okay. I never had problems out of the pieces I used.

Coming along fine. Just needs a background, and I suggest plain non-shiny black. Constructino paper that you buy at craft and hobby stores works fine. Two sheets cut and taped together to cover the outer back wall of the tank. This would make a vast difference. And the plants will fill in as they grow.

Byron.
