Hi everyone. A couple of months ago I changed my 36 gal bow front back to freshwater. I currently have 12 cardinal tetras, yo yo loach and a mating pair of guppies. Can I add a small rainbow shark in this tank? How about an angelfish? What about a dwarf cichlid?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No rainbow shark either. Belligerence is the problem with them. Stick with dwarf cichlids.

You can add the angel fish only if you intend to use the tank as a "grow out" tank. You will have to move any fish that you choose that grows too large. I do agree that dwarf cichlids would be a good choice.

rams (bolivian and blue rams)
Kribenis (albino or normal colored)
Apisto (any color form)

those are some of the dwarf cichlids, look up all of them and decide which one will fit your tank.

Thanks

Thanks guys for your help. I was thinking of getting a Apistogramma cacatuoides (cockatoo dwarf cichlid) anyway. You just helped me decide. :D
