Hello all. How would this combination work for a 30 gallon? 8 tiger barbs 6 giant danios 2 pictus cats and one bushy nose pleco (all purchased as young as possible). Too many fish and/or any incompatibilities? Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated!

That combo works, but the giant danios may stress everyone else as the bounce from side to side. Honestly, I like giant danios but have never found a set up in the community tank area that they go with.

If you want to go a different route, you could go with a gouramis or a nice paradise fish for the top. Sailfin Mollys would work as well. In the middle go with Celestrial Danios and some Rosy Barbs. For the bottom, go with corys. If youre not using real plants one of the colored crayfish would look nice. I'd look at maybe a smaller Cherax or two.'

The pictus cats will get too large for a 30 gallon, and they also need to be kept in larger schools. They're very active fish that need a lot of room.
