I really enjoy seeing these pictures. It feels good to see an aquarium come to life, especially after talking to the fishkeeper for several weeks as they create their tank.

Nice job. Lets see some fish!

thanks pasfur! how long do you think i should wait for the cycle? i got the rock four days ago.

The rock looks mature, at least some of it. I would test for ammonia and nitrite every other day for a week or so. Maybe even add a couple small hermit crabs today. I would probably then feed the tank as if you had fish. VERY SMALL FEEDINGS. If both remain zero for a week, then you likely already have an abundant supply of bacteria, which I expect to be the case.

At this point you are probably ready for a fish. Don't confuse this with the tank being mature and ready to STOCK with fish. But you would be ready for your first fish purchase.

this wont be my first fish i will probably get damsels first but what do you think about a dwarf lion fish?

You could fit a fuzzy lion in there, but it would have to be alone (due to it's nature and/or aggresion). Saying they stay under 5", the 29G could be a nice home.
