Yay! I finally got the monster into the house. I'm excited to get it going. I have tomorrow off so I'll be cleaning sand. Here's a pic of it when I brought it home.

Thanks guys. This will be going into the living room. Stock will be mostly Central American cichlids. They're all young, around the 2" size. I'll also be moving Hershey, my albino Chocolate pleco, to this tank as well as the Congo tetra. I will be swapping out a biowheel and some filter floss from one of my established tanks as well as some wood to help the cycle.

Managuense (Jaguar cichlid)

Vieja Synspillum (I call him Punk because he is)

Jack Dempsey

Polleni (A cichlid from Madagascar)

You know I'm envious! (not envious about all the sand you are going to have to wash, though )

LOL. Whew! I just spent 3 hours cleaning sand. Yeah, that is the hardest part of setting up a tank I think. Well, maybe besides cleaning the tank itself, which I actually have already done over the past couple weeks. It's been scrubbed with vinegar/water and rinsed more times than I can remember. Also got the rocks and wood scrubbed and rinsed.

Nah, no pics of me cleaning. But here's some pics of it filled and I kind of threw it together. I may change it around a bit. I think it needs a big boulder or two.

Sorry about the reflection in this one

It's looking good. You did a really good job of washing that sand as the water is very clear.
Where will you find your boulders? I'm excited to see fish in this tank!!

Yeah, I was thinking slate or granite. There's a landscape supply yard right here in my town. It's where I got the rocks that are in there now. I'll have to go back and check into some bigger boulders.

The entire back ground is black, Jeaninel isn't the type of person to do anything halfway! She apologized in picture post for the reflection. That's what you're seeing, a reflection in the tank of the wall that sits in FRONT of the tank, not behind it.
