I am going to build a stand and canopy for my 20 gallon tank this weekend and I was wondering if I need to leave the back of the canopy open to allow heat to get out. I will have 2 CFL bulbs inside and I have heard that they do not produce much heat.

so i am planning on making a 5 gallon cube tank out of 1/8th inch glass.also i want to make a stand out of wood and a hood that uses CF lighting.any and all help will be greatly appreatiated.

This is my very simple tank stand I made 3 weeks ago. It is made from a single 12' 2"x12" piece of douglass fir. I cut it in half planed the sides put in some dowels then glued the 2 pieces together in a butt joint. I stained it with a dark stain I don't remember the name. Then gave it 4 coats...
