I would add the sand first, the put a plate or something and pour the water on that. You can pour it onto the sand but it forever. I did that today with a 2 gallon and it took quite a bit.

That's great, but it's really unnecessary to wash that much at once. Also, wet sand weighs more than dry sand, so moving a bucket weighing 75 lbs is not something most people should attempt to do.
