I don't know, for me it really easier to just the change the water . I really think cycling is more work with all water testing, filter swish/rinsing, gravel vacuuming. So i personally don't see anything wrong if you don't cycle even 10 gall. But i don't really like to cycle small tanks though.

One advice, do not keep the water too warm . There is a lot of more chance to have infections in the warmer water . And you probobly know more then me about cycling? But if you going to cycle your 10 gall make sure you swish/rinse the filter media weekly / with the gravel vacuuming. And did you saw Oldfishlady water changes recommendations?
Or you not going to cycle 10 gall?
And i do understand that when it busy crazy. Our loved bettas taking as much time as other animals. Some will think it just a fish but its really a lot of time, especially if you have more than one. I have 8 and i am driving crazy. But i still really appreciate that you have rescued them from the store where they are just dying .

Hey so sorry for your loss. I see you have many bettas and many died. My bettas live lionger than 2 .5 and i have 3.5 years old betta. How old are your bettas? Just wondering , because if they don't live long then may be there is something you need to change in their care? When i had my first bettas they didn't live long and i was wondering what i am doing wrong. I did change something in their care and it seems they live longer now. Do you need any help or tips on betta care? Sorry i hope i didn't offended you, just want to help:)
