Platies have pink cheeks

So i got 3 platies for my tank today. Its been cycled and was at 0 amonia 0 nitrite 22 nitrate when i was floating the fish. I netted them in after 30 mins floating and 45 mins drip acclimating. I noticed shortly after they started exploring that 2/3 have pink cheeks. I thought it was adorable but when i googled it since ive never seen it i found that it can be a sign of ammonia poisoning? Does this look like that? It doesnt look like velvet which is the other thing i saw. Is it possible that this is just their colouring? Did they have ammonia poisoning at the store before i brought them home?

Hard to say for sure from those pictures. Increase your water changes to help them heal, no need for meds. I don't usually drip acclimate, esspecially hardy fish, since differences in pH/exposure to O2 can cause toxic chem reactions in the bag. That's kind of a split topic though. Hopefully, you don't lose anyone.

I have a different mollie problem. I have a gold and black female that was obviously ready to give birth. I put her in a little 2.5 gallon tank that is full of algae and moss. After a week or so, she was acting very odd when I was turning out the lights. The next morning I saw a baby so I went to net her. While stirring up the moss, babies appeared from everywhere. I got her out but now I have around 30 or more mollies. What now? They seem very happy eating the vegetation but they are going to be a lot of fish!

Yep, sell/trade them at a local fish store. Next time start a new thread, you'll get more advice.

Thank you but I wasn't looking for advice. I was making a bad joke! lol I only told the story because I thought about my own mollies while reading this thread.
