Serendipitous Startup

Just a quick note to say " Hi! " I'm relatively new to keeping my own tank, but my father kept several over the years. (Admittedly, he scaled back on the hobby when I was born) I learned a lot about keeping fish from him over the years, although I only kept one betta and a snail myself in highschool.

At the end of the summer, one of the tenants in my apartment building was moving out, and had a 14 gallon aquarium set with a heater, hood, and filter already included. She had received it as a gift from her parents who were now about to help her move, and she didn't want them to know she would never use it. This is how I found myself with a free starter set and no more excuses to keep putting off starting my own tank as I had been doing for years. I cycled it right away, got my neon tetras to start the community at the end of November, and have been relearning everything I knew as a 12 year old ever since.

My cats are not amused.

Hello and welcome to the forum

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.
