Hi,Willow..hoping things stabilize for you in your tanks sooner than later. Two mating pairs of angels sounds pretty wild,..forgive me,but that is a 55 gallon tank? So sorry about your clowns, I know you really like them. They are such a gamble it seems..I bought a dozen a little over a year ago and 11 died within a month. My guess internal parasites they had when sold. My 135 gallon tank still sits empty as a result. Have you bee able to clean "film" from bottom of tank? It won't come up with siphon, or are yo afraid to disturb the tank? Lov ya..

hey cjd
jewel rio 300 don't know the gallons, and only one pair in there as the other
pair were getting beaten on.
i managed to syphon out most of the white stuff from the bottom,of the new tank
without disturbing the gravel.
(small tank so they'll need rehoming,)
i've got some pictures to upload of the remaining clowns,as i'd like opinions
on them….they just don't seem to be colouring up,they look peeky ?

Yes, he looks a little pale there in pics..doing better yet?I'm no expert on those guys at all..my surviver I gave to a local "expert who keeps many more fish than I can handle. I'm sure my guy wa, s happy..he colored and grew well , but was too alone with me,so I let him go. He did seem to like the "extra" pond snails I gave him.

hey thanks for poppin in..
i think they've almost cleaned me out of snails, and i had tried
to have as many as i could in the tank before they came home.
i've spied on them this morning when i dropped the sinking pellets
in,and they eat like horse,so i'm not entirely worried about food, and shelter
is in abundance too,,,so they are still extremely skittish and it took
forever to get the pictures…i was hoping that being in the group would
make them more confident….however i still hardly get to see the corys…
i just have shy fish !!

How did I miss this.

Glad to hear things have settled down after all your woes. Fishkeeping can be one of the most rewarding hobbies but also one of the most 'frustrating' at times. Must admit I hate losing fish but we all do at times.

And you have Serpae Tetras, I love these little guys as they are so full of character. My wife has a small shoal in her tank and they are so colourful without being 'in your face', more subtle than that. You hear such horror stories about them but hers have been no trouble at all. Yes they squabble amongst themselves but that is just amusing as there is no real menace behind it and they never bother any of the other fish in there. Typical Serpae in that they rarely shoal up and they do enjoy nicking the Julii's pellets but, bizarrely, on the rare occasions they do shoal up the female Killi joins them, obviously a wannabe tetra at heart

have we seen wifeys tank ?
i love serpaes nearly as much as tiger barbs,i hope to get some more
barbs in a couple of weeks.
my serape pretty much stick together,i thought at one stage there was going
to be babies,as there was some action around one of the plants, and the others
seems to home in,and ferret about…however that was quite a while ago
and,i've not seen anything.
i am beginning to regret getting the angels…they're making the other fishes
lives a misery……they'll be awful to catch as this tanks so big…..

No you haven't seen it, I dare not go near it until I am told to do a water change . To give you a taste it is 68l with a pair of Killis (Fundulopanchax nigerianus), a group of Serpae, a group of Julii Corys and a SAE. I'll try and talk her into setting up a journal.

I was going to nick the Serpae (and boost their numbers) for the Blackwater tank but then had a change of heart.

Better not tell you about her Guppy tank had I
