I'm no stranger to those large scrapes, glad he's healing up nicely for you. Fish always amaze me with how well they can heal and the rate they can do it.

Yeah he had pretty much scalped himself lol. Can't even tell it happened now. Healthy fish are very resilient when it comes to healing up.

All kinds of reflection going on in this pic. But still, I love this pic of my grandson admiring the fish. He just loves this tank.

So my Black Belt has been harassing my Argentea, chasing and nipping her. I moved her to my Qt tank so she can heal up a bit. Unfortunately, I need to rehome her. I have someone interested in her coming by tomorrow. Since I've removed her from the 150 the black belt has calmed down. He and the Oscar seem to get along fine and ignore the smaller convict and Firemouth.

Here's a couple updated pics of the black belt. He's close to 8" now.

Guys, this is so sad. I had sold my Argentea to a guy on Craig's list. He had a nice big tank and sounded like he wanted to breed her because he was asking if she had laid eggs before. Anyway, this past weekend my husband and I are at the lfs just window shopping. Lo and behold, there's my Argentea. I know it's her. I recognized the little split in her caudal fin, the slight bend at the top of her dorsal, faint nip marks on her side from the black belt. We go and ask one of the workers if she was a trade in. Yes, someone had just brought her in that week. I felt so bad for her. Here I thought she was going to a good home and I see her by herself in a small tank at the lfs. When I was looking at her she starts doing her little tail wag dance at the glass. Did she recognize me? I was gutted. They wanted $40 for her ( I had sold her for $20). But I have No room for her and I don't want to put her back in the 150 because she and the bb don't get along. So my hubby and I are looking for a corner tank (hopefully a 75) that we might be as to squeeze into a spot in our living room. We find a perfect tank on craigslist for a great price but it gets sold right away. So the search continues. We can't really afford another tank but I felt so so bad seeing her at the lfs. Anyway, hopefully if she's still there when we find a tank we will get her back and give her her own tank. Or maybe someone will snag her up and give her a good home.

Thats really sad. Hopefully you can snag up a good tank quickly so you can rescue her. It's a shame that someone conned you into this.

I guess it's a good lesson for everyone, ask about the tank for the future buyer, make sure they provide pics and drop off the fish yourself to see their tanks.

I've never had any problems with 'Impulse Buying'. They're just animals that I forgot I had planned to get.

omg that actually is mega sad, even worse she recognised you !
have you decided what you'll do ?

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
