Live Planted — Experience with the Marineland Advanced LED?

My AquaticLife T5 HO finally bit the dust after about 4 years of use. I replaced it with the Marineland Advanced LED. I was assured at Big Al's that it was comparable to the AquaticLife in output. However, it's actually quite dim so I'm worried about all my plants.

Any experience with this kit? Give it a go, or take it back for something better?

I would not trade my Aquaticlife T5HO for any LED fixture.
Don't get me wrong, some high end LED fixtures will grow you plants (not sure about Marineland) but I didn't see one that brings out the natural, soft colors of plants and fish the way T5HO does.

Is your old fixture beyond repair? Have you tried to contact customer support @ Aquaticlife? When 4 out of the 8 bulbs stopped working, Big Als told me to replace the ballast. I called Aquaticlife and fixed the problem by changing one socket.
