Angelfish died

Well, I came home today and he passed. I had him for a day in a 10 gallon tank, and when i put him in I knew it was probably a mistake AFTER researching. He was up against the filter tube (not in it), but we are not sure if that was the cause of death. The filter might have sucked him up when he had died. I am later going to the pet store to get fish that would be good for a 10 gallon tank. I will have updates in a few more hours :)

Thanks to: "iamgray" and "Byron" for their help and explaining to me some beginner things :)

I'm sorry to hear about your fish. Good luck with your new tankmates.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Aw, that's too bad. Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately, there is a lot of "learning the hard way" when it comes to fish, i think.

Before getting new fish, have you read the stickied thread on cycling an aquarium? It's a really good, informative read. It can be found in the freshwater aquarium forum. I know you mentioned in your angelfish thread that the person at petsmart said the tank was ready for you to add fish, but i've often found that big box pet stores don't always train their employees on how long it actually takes to fully cycle a tank.

Good luck with the new fish, whenever you get them!

We did cycle it and tonight my step father came and tested the PH and it was fine. We just got 2 new fish, (Mickey Mouse and Red Wagtail Platy). So hopefully they'll be ok :)

Sorry to hear about your fish.

Small Livebearers like Platies are good choice for a tank that small. Are they male or females.

10 gallon
4 juli cory

1 5 gallon empty tank
