Angry "Worm" in aquarium

One of my brichardi was interested in chasing around a small, worm-like creature this morning. The "worm" was about 1" long and a millimeter and a half in diameter. Moved to fast to see any other characteristics. Swam like a snake. It quickly attached to the glass and "inched" itself toward the surface like an inchworm like it had a sucker on its head and tail. Tried to catch it, but before I could get my forceps, it disappeared under the lip of the tank.
Saw something the other day crawling its way through the gravel that was similar to the one I saw swimming, but it didn't elongate and contract to move like this one.
Any ideas what this/these are. They behave like leeches, but I have never seem one attached to a fish. Anything I should consider for killing them?
