I set up my tank on Sunday and my fish are all hiding...racing to hide if I go near the tank...even crashing into the sides. I watch from across the room and they never come out from behind the decor...I have 3 Cichlids in a 30 gallon tank with artificial plants and a bubble feature. They were fine on Sunday, even ate well. 2 came from the same tank at the store and the 3rd from a different one.
Looks like you have an oscar, parrotmouth, and maybe a severum? The minimum tank for any of these fish is 75gal, even growing out this is way too small! If you want to have cichlids go with a pair of rams for this tank. They're social with their owners and stay small, plus beautiful colors. Take these fish back and do more research please.
Many fish are very shy when adapting to a new environment. I do think those fish will grow to be too big for that tank tho.
