Unhappy Moving soon need help asap

Hello you all, I have made an account for this reason

I am MOVING. I have a lovely, planted, ten gallon aquarium, home to 2 sterbai corycat fish, and some neon tetras. I'm not so concerned about the tetras but the cats are my babies.

We are moving hardly a mile down the road to a bigger home for our family so I am not going to sell any of my fish or plants or even the aquarium. I want them to be in the new house but I've never moved a whole set up before so I'm kind of at a loss. What would be the best way to transport the tank and its inhabitants without losing any lives? Also, it has to go down a set of stairs to get out of the house. I have a bunch of empty gallon containers that I'm going to "make" water in on the side, in case we have to drain the aquarium and I have to refill it at the new house ( we are talking at least six or seven gallon jugs ) I am also concerned about restarting the cycle. I have had the same filter media in the pump since I set up the aquarium and I'm not going to get rid of it, at the most it will be out of the water for an hour. Will it still be okay to use or will I have to start from the beginning?
