Question Growing Algae

So I have some Otos, and I've been wanting to grow algae for them, but it's soon becoming winter, and I don't have much sun now. And when I searched online, All I found was "How to get RID of green algea".

Does anyone know how to grow algae that I can feed to my otos? Inside?

First I'd suggest a few other simple foods that require less work. Blanched and de-shelled peas work great and so does spinach. Just get the water boiling and toss the peas in for 20-30 sec. Drain them and once cooled you can put them in a zip lock with a paper towel to soak up moisture. When ready to feed, just cut a few in half squeeze the end opposite the cut and you have a de-shelled pea. I'd start by feeding one and make sure they learn to hunt them down. Only make 24 or less as they only last a week i the fridg provided you take out what you need and put them back. Spinach, blanch same way as peas. Put a small leaf in weighting it with gravel or any thing and see how fast the eat it. Your other fish will likely eat both as well. Additionally, get some food with a high content of Spirulina. You just use 2-3 big flakes and push them under the water so they sink quickly. Again your other fish will eat them.

For algae, get a 24" under the counter kitchen light, a shallow Rubbermade container and and air source. When cleaning the tank take old water and fill the Rubbermade. Add light and air and wait. If you siphon your tank into a bucket, use a piece of airline and siphon the visible waste and add it to the algae container. I also add some rocks so that you can move the algae around.
