Driftwood Fungus?

Have a piece of driftwood probably from Maylasia area. Have soaked it for weeks in both hot water salt solution and hot water bircarb of soda solutions, appreciable tannins released with discolored water soaks every time with both types of soaks.
Rinsed in hot water after each soak. Placed in my 10 gal hold tank and now experiencing a white fungus growth on several locations of the small piece of driftwood, approx. 6 inch cube in volume.
Currently have 4 fish in the tank and it does not appear to bother them during the last 2 weeks.
Is this something to be concerned with and is it harm
full to freshwater fish? Should I consider boiling this really nice looking piece of driftwood to eliminate the white fuzz fungus or should I just discard it?
Would really like to salvage if possible. Any advise appreciated.

Boil it for a while. Usually something starts to grow. I was pulling my driftwood out a few times a month to srub it, I've even bleached it. Ended up using fake. Hopefully, someone found a more permanent solution.

Aquarium
I've boiled driftwood for several hours & still have had that white fungus grow.

Although I did notice the fungus only sprouted from the tips of the driftwood I had snapped off to fit into the tank.

Suffice to say, whether it was the snails, shrimp or just natural progression, it was gone within a week.

Have Boiled the offending driftwood for 4 hours in a mild saltwater solution. Have in the 55 gal tank now and no apparent white fungus yet.
