Angry 60 gallon with no filter

My eheim pro 2 has crashed for the time being....I don't have anything else to filter it with till I fix it....so how am I supposed to keep this going?? I can add two air stones, and I have an 2 empty (no cartridge) filters on it...but I know this isn't enough...I have 4 angels, 3 kuhli loaches, and 2 common plecos. Any ideas??

Just keep the filter media wet and it should be fine for a few days until you can fix it or buy another. Your bioload isn't so terrible so as long as you don't add any more fish, it should be fine for a week or so but definitely try to get a new filter or fix that one as soon as you can; though I realize, not all of us have all the time in the world.

I'm ordering the piece tomorrow I'm just worried about the shipping time ;) definitely getting on it ASAP, and I might have a filter I can or row from a girlfriend. I will do all that, and do small water changes every three or four days

Yeah, just keep an eye on the water parameter's is all. If any ammonia show's up, you can do a water change, otherwise, leave it alone.

Definitely put the air stones in to help with the aeration while you're losing what the filter provided, and test the water parameters to make sure no drastic swings are happening, but you're going to be fine with small water changes (if you need them) and the aeration.

In the future, you may want to invest in a backup filter. I keep an extra of the same model on hand for my tank, so if anything goes wrong with the one in use, i can do a quick swap of the media and be set to go. Some people think it's excessive, but i get a certain peace of mind knowing it's tucked away in case if emergency.

Put your filter media in a clean sock, netting or some such. Put it in the tank, with the air supply below it. You won't have squat for mechanical filtration, but it will keep the bio filtration going.

Since you have an air supply buy or build a couple box filters. If there's any issues with the Eheim in the future you can run the media in the box filters while waiting for parts, getting around to fixing it, or whatever.
