Sick blue gourami

As shown in the pic, one side of my blue gourami has unusual dark discoloration. The other side looks normal.
It does not eat much and sits on the bottom of the tank alot. It also has white/clear stringy poop.
Please help me figure out what wrong with it and what to do. Thanks.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Looking at the picture, the fish is either bloated or has internal parasites. It is a male so it's not eggs. Well, not fish eggs at least. Is that the normal size of the fishes belly?

I've seen people have stripes like that on their fish before. Want to say mayobacteria? Maybe spelled wrong but something like that - it's been a while.

Success using medications to cure any ailment is spotty, because often we wait too long to take the appropriate action, thus requiring more drastic (stressful) actions to attempt the cure the fish. So, if it were my fish, and I wanted to try medicating, I would treat with Prazipro first for internal parasites.

Jaysee, do you mean mycobacteria or....?

Has the colouration always been like that? how long have you had it for? It could just showing colouration from the opaline gourami (which is a variety of the 3 spot gourami)

I've never had any problems with 'Impulse Buying'. They're just animals that I forgot I had planned to get.
