I think that nitrate level is OK. But it also depends on how sensitive your fish are. Did you try doing 15-20% water changes a couple days in a row?

90gal: 2x Tangerine Discus, 2x Clown Pleco, 2x Catfish.
75gal + 10gal sump: 2x Large Goldfish, 1x Common Pleco, 14x Leopard Danios
55gal: 5x Angelfish, 1x Common Pleco, 8x SIlver Tip Tetras, 16x Neon Tetras, 8x Albino Corys

Well if you want to decrease your nitrate level you have to dilute it, so multiple water changes in close proximity should do it. you don't want to change too much and mess up your pH so just do like 15% today, then 15% tomorrow or the next day and see if that works.

If you do a deep gravel vac, it may also help?

I really can't say because I don't know anything about SW fish, but 20 is fine for most FW fish, it is not toxic until it gets to high levels (what's that, like 70ish?). Hopefully a SW guru can hel you further!
