Which test kit do you use?

Hi everyone,

We've been using the Kordon AquaTru Salt Water Master II Test Kit, but the packets of chemicals have expired and we're considering trying something different. I like that this kit came in a little brief case... somehow that inspired confidence.



Which test kit do you use? Is there any in particular you would recommend for quick, accurate results for a FO tank?

i currently use a tetra combination kit and an API test for Cal. but after reading posts here and talking to my LFS i thin ki am going to go with strictly API in the future they are easier to read and the directions are very clear.. which is great for me!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's better than the cardboard boxes that all my test kits come in...half the time I destroy the boxes

I love Elos test kits. I think they are reliable and easy to use. That being said, for Calcium and Alkalinity, I use nothing besides Salifert. I just feel that the Saliferts are more accurate (although they take a lot of patience...). So I use Elos for pH, API for Nitrates and Salifert for Alk and Ca.

for fish only tank i'd only check salinity and that's pretty much it if you are doing monthly water change.
