Salt trouble

I'm having trouble with the salt level in my brackish tank. I figured people in the salt water section would know more about that.
I used enough aquarium salt and then a little to make my 90 gallon brackish. I know some people say use ocean salt, while others say use aquarium salt. I took the advice of those who are for aquarium salt. My floating hydrometer reads below 1.000 s.g. Is that even possible?

I wonder if the carbon in the filter filtered it out? Does salt get filtered out if you have activated carbon in your filter?

ok You dont want to use eather one you want to use marine salt. For salt water tanks.
I would drain the tank then Fill it and get some instant ocean salt mix.

no carbon does not remove salts...and as far as salts go the instant ocean is a better more natural blend but if your like me and do a lot of water changes it can get costly i personaly use aquarium salt in my brackish tankson water changes....monos,night gobies,mollies,scats,puffers..ect....hope this is some help......ADIOS...

now are you talking the aquarium salt for treating sick fish. that you would get at you pet chains. Or the salt for salt water tanks. Because if your useing aquarium salt your hurting your fish more then helping them.
I hope byron will chim in here to better help explain it better.
