Salt Creep cannot be prevented. It is the result of evaporation. Micro-bubbles splash tiny bits of saltwater on surrounding surfaces, as the water evaporates, the salt is left behind. Voila! Salt Creep. You can contain your saltcreep by keeping your tank and sump covered, or at least keep the inlet/skimmer section covered.

there is a product like this, which i have not used personally but you can see how well it works by the review.
Coralife Salt Creep Eliminator 8oz (Protects against Salt Damage)

as stated your not going to effectively prevent salt creep, i usually just run an old towel around the rim of my sump when i get the chance and clean it off which isnt such a big deal.
