RO/DI Units?

I bought this unit on E-bay.....Question I have is, it runs at a trickle and waste 3 gallons for every 1 gallon I get, is there anyway to speed this up with less waste? I've heard of booster pumps, can you get those at your local Home Depot?

3/1 is about the average waste ratio for an RO/DI unit. You could boost the flow with a pump, but I dont believe it will change the ratio. You can alter the ratio by reducing the flow on the wastewater line, but that will cause more sediment build-up on the TFC membrane and cause a faster deterioration of the membranes functionality, ultimately reducing the output of the unit.

Take pride in what you do, for it is a reflection of who you are.

i have my RO hooked up to a sink in the laundry room. i run the waste line into the washing machine to fill it up. the "waste water" is still plenty good to wash clothes, just be careful to keep an eye on it as it will overflow if you dont.
