algae

hi guys...
I just put together my tank, about 2 weeks ago or so, im using ro water, i bought 100 lbs of live sand, 65 lbs of live rock, the lighting is 4- 65k + lunar... 90 gallons tank, away from any window...
my problem is algae, im seeing a lot of it now all over my rocks, and now on the sand too... is this normal? how much algea is ok? should i wait for the tank to cycle to put a cleaner crue or should i put them now?

Its the normal cycling phase. I seen people put a cleaning crew in just to control the algea. Wants the algea uses all the nutrients it feeds on it will die off.

ok...
I've been using: "purple up" (coralline algae accelerator)... should i continue using it? or you think that the bad algae (hair like) is feeding on it?
also: how long should i run the lights? the white, the blue...?
thanks

Purple up wont feed algea, matter of fact everyone around here thinks its a waste of money. As long as you keep your calcuim and alkalinty up you will grtow coralline algea. Try to clean off some if its getting to you. My lights go like this:

Actinics 11:30am-10:00pm
Daylights 1:00pm-8:30pm
MH's 2:00pm-7:00pm

Tell us way more about your tank and where are you located?

B Ionic has to be my hands down favorite ALK and CA supplements. Kalk water is another way and works well with B Ionic.
