lol, I worked at a pet store that sold them and was terrified of them at first, but after handling them for a few confused customers they actually grew on me, and I had to get a couple. They are definitely a conversation piece, thats for sure.

As for housing, I have a small plastic kritter keeper thats probably the equivalent of a one gallon tank I keep the 6 adults in. They need very little space. I heat the cage with a heat pad.

I went to Michaels craft store and bought one of those plastic beanie baby cases for the babies and that seems to work out fine. Theres quite a few, but they can get through the top of the plastic cage so I keep them separate.

My intentions were to keep them to breed for gecko food, but I never got a gecko

My tanks include:

55 Gallon Freshwater:
2x Marineland 350 filters
1x rena heater
1x powerhead
No special lighting

29 Gallon Freshwater:
Marineland 350 filter
Rena heater
No special lighting
46 Gallon Bow front Planted Tank:
Rena Canister Filter
Marineland Biowheel Filter
Rena Heater
Rena Powerhead
Coralife 196 w/ LED lighting (4w/gal)
10 Gallon Freshwater:
Basic components (Goldfish/ aquatic frogs for kids)

COMING SOON! 10 Gallon Nano!

I'd think they'd scare a gecko to death! I just went and listened to their hissing sounds. It sounds like something you'd expect to hear from a mummy's tomb. Pretty cool, actually.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

Yeah, the hissing is terrifying- I still jump lol. The babies are small, and the most nutritionally balanced food available for lizards, believe it or not lol. They are mainly sold as feeder insects.

have to say that i would hold one of thoses rather than a spider
anyday.
thanks for the piccies.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
